- Ambient temperature must be between 54°F and 90°F (12°C to 32°C)
- Coefficient of charge and discharge must not exceed 0.5C. (~50A each battery)
- Depth of Discharge (DoD) must not exceed 80%. 
- Maximum altitude must be below 6560 feet (2000 meters) above sea level.
- Maximum humidity in the room must not exceed 80% non-condensing 
- There are more restrictions if the Battery Management System (BMS) via CAN to the inverter is not installed. 

The Deka Duration DD5300 battery is a modular system that can be installed as a single battery or in a cluster of up to 15 batteries. It can be used for applications with deep cycling on         a daily basis for off grid, self-consumption, peak load shaving, and other similar systems. It’s made with cells of the commonly preferred Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry for stationary energy storage. It is thermally stable and has high cycle life compared with many other Li-ion technologies. The battery can be used with 48 volt nominal inverters and charge controllers that are approved with closed loop communications.
 Contact AEE for inverters with closed loop communication. The DD5300 battery is dual voltage and can be connected in series for high voltage systems. Ask AEE about applications for this.  

The DD5300 battery has  a  built  in  Battery  Management  System  (BMS)  that  keeps the individual cells balanced and within the correct parameters for longest life. If operating parameters are exceeded the battery will protect itself. Each battery has an ON/OFF switch and an internal backup fuse. There is an RS485 connection for communications between multiple batteries, and a CANbus connection for closed loop communications to the inverter system.  There is also an external communication via RS232 to USB, and software to read and program the battery system. Battery monitoring and remote updates can be done via the remote App.  Android and IOS Apps should be available by mid 2022.

Depending on which inverter these are used with they can be connected up to 8 to 15 modules in parallel to make a battery cluster. Bus bars are available to connect the power terminals on each battery module when they are stacked vertically.  These can be wall mounted, or stacked flat up to 8 high or side by side for floor mounting. Using the DD21001 Low Voltage HUB Combiner, multiple clusters of battery modules can be used as one larger battery bank. Multiple clusters can only be used when there is closed loop communications to the inverter system.

One negative and one positive AWG #4 cables, and an RS485 cable between the batteries, and a CANbus cable are included. The charging temperature range is 14°F (-10°C) to 131°F (55°C), with a recommended operating temperature range for warranty of 68°F (20°C)  to 86°F (30°C) for maximum life and performance. Listed to UL1973, IEC62619. Ships as Hazardous material Class 9, UN38.3 (UNDOT). Standard warranty is for 10 years to 70% of original rated capacity. Made in China.
